The Corporate Project Manager typically handles one or more complex or significant projects and manages resource allocation for all site projects.  They are expected to gather requirements, develop preliminary layout and design, as well as prepare cost estimation, project evaluation and business justification for their assigned projects.  The Corporate Project Manager is also expected to work with Operations to provide feedback, select equipment, evaluate designs and develop budgets on proposed projects.  They are expected to critically review projects developed by others and lead cross-functional business teams to make sure all aspects of project are covered and supported.  Most projects involve a high level of coordination with Operations and hands-on engineering where time will be spent in the field during development and execution.  This role directly and indirectly leads Project Engineers, Drafters and Contractors.



  • Develop SOWs for project work / equipment installation
  • Work with Procurement to recommend qualified contractors
  • Conduct pre-bid walkthroughs with contractors
  • Work with Procurement to review and condition contractor proposals and award contracts
  • Audit and analyze SOWs prepared by others
  • Lead HazOp and HACCP studies
  • Develop and coordinate project schedules
  • Critically review overall site schedule
  • Integrate with Planning and Operations
  • Manage installation of approved projects
  • Ensure contractors work in accordance with all safety requirements
  • Monitor contractors to ensure quality workmanship
  • Ensure project installation adheres to design
  • Manage overall site construction efforts
  • Manage project cost and schedule
  • Provide spend projections using Anaplan
  • Authorize payment to contractors
  • Develop cost control plans
  • Manage overall costs for multiple projects
  • Manage overall site spending profile vs cash flow forecasting
  • Establish and/or oversee all project teams, ensure facilitation of meetings and ensure documentation of team activities
  • Work closely with Procurement and Operations team
  • Ensure compliance with Corporate Standards
  • Develop designs for field-detailed items and implement design changes as required
  • Communicate and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Plan and lead commissioning efforts including supporting resources
  • Ensure Stores has appropriate spare parts on-hand prior to commissioning and hand-over
  • Plan and lead training efforts including supporting resources
  • Lead post-audit effort
  • Work closely with Finance team in conducting audits
  • Support site integration of long-term CapEx project pipeline


  • Minimum of 8 years of progressively demanding experience as a Project Engineer or Project Manager
  • Food Production, Food & Beverage or CPG experience preferred
  • Industrial food processing experience preferred
  • PMP certification desired


  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical preferred)
  • MBA preferred


  • Experience with GMP practices required
  • Experience with Sanitary Design required
  • Experience with OSHA and/or regional HSE Regulations required
  • Experience with and ability to co-lead HAACP audits
  • Highly skilled in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to read and understand CAD drawings, ability to edit CAD drawings preferred
  • Advanced capabilities with MS Project
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to prepare and read PFDs and P&IDs
  • Solid understanding of the following areas:
