OVERVIEW

The Operational Technology (OT) Network Engineer reports to the Director Control Systems. This position is responsible for Standardizing and maturing architecture, services, processes, procedures and policies, relating to OT equipment and applications in manufacturing facilities across the enterprise.

 

Candidate must have an ability to collaborate with computer engineers, production engineers and OT and IT professionals to develop strategies for effective operations.  Experience in IT/OT cooperation or IT/OT alignment in the modern industrial setting.

 

The successful candidate must be motivated and self-directed, requiring minimal supervision and the ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and quickly implement their strategy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an assertive character are essential to be successful in this role.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from an accredited university 
  • 5+ Years of Network Design, Implementation and Monitoring Experience in Manufacturing Environment

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION

  • CISCO Certifications
  • Exposure to a wide variety of OT systems among PLC, SCADA, DCS etc.
  • Familiar with Wonderware, MES, SCADA, FactoryTalk, or such OT application systems
  • Familiar with Industrial networking technologies, protocols, protection methodologies
  • Familiar with Firewall technologies
  • Exposure to IIoT
  • Expertise in cyber security in the context of OT (i.e., engineering labs and factories)

 

REQUIRED SYSTEM CAPABILITIES AND SKILLS

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking
  • Knowledge of Cisco and Industrial networking Standards
  • Knowledge and extensive experience administering a large, multi-site LAN/WAN network
  • Knowledge of dynamic LAN/WAN, VLAN,QOS and routing protocols
  • Knowledge of WiFi and Wireless networking technologies
  • Knowledge of network security and firewall administration
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP troubleshooting and network traffic analysis using packet capture tools like Wireshark

 

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, configure, standardize and implement OT Network and cybersecurity compensating controls for OT devices
  • Monitor and manage manufacturing network, systems and alerting infrastructure
  • Design, implement and support manufacturing LAN, WAN, wireless, remote connectivity, routing infrastructure etc.
  • Design, implementation, and support firewall/DMZ security infrastructure
  • Assist in troubleshooting OT equipment across the enterprise as a subject matter expert
  • Provide top tier troubleshooting and support for manufacturing LAN, WAN, Wireless issue
  • Implementation and maintenance of firm network security standards

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • 10% travel (domestic and some international)
