OVERVIEW
The Packaging Supervisor will direct sugar production operations on rotating shifts. The supervisor will direct teams of specialized union employees ensuring good manufacturing practices and safe operating procedures. The supervisor will achieve standard production volume, quality standards, and regulatory compliance through the supervision of hourly personnel (up to 30) on rotating shifts.

  • Maintaining standard production rates while maintaining compliance with safety, regulatory and quality standards
  • Leading assigned teams in the continuous improvement process
  • Ability to train others
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation
  • Basic industrial electric background, computer, PLC programming, and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices

 
EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years of experience working in a packaging operation preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience leading a team in an industrial setting or equivalent military leadership

 
EDUCATION

  • Four year degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent military experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED required
