Reporting to the Engineering Manager the successful candidate will have responsibility for maintaining and enhancing the Company’s packaging and warehouse control systems in a manner that is consistently driven for improved performance in accordance with industry standards.



  • Replace/upgrade and maintain control and instrumentation, hardware and software whilst ensuring refinery operations perform as required.
  • Communicate with all levels of refinery personnel to ensure understanding of changes to the legacy control systems.
  • Provide specialist instrumentation knowledge to the refinery for new capital projects.
  • Experience of European machine safety standards and hazardous area installations.
  • Supervise contractors and project engineering resources during installation and commissioning.
  • Provide operational support of existing control systems and control infrastructure to minimize production downtime.
  • Evaluate changes/upgrades to process control systems and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the definition of standards for the development and maintenance of process control systems within the refinery.
  • Focus on Continuous Improvement and Quality Improvement as required.


Preferred Experience

  • project management experience
  • Excellent understanding of a range of process control tools and techniques, but specifically Allen Bradley and Wonderware ArchestraA
  • Good knowledge of Packaging Machines, Robotics, AGV, and ASRS Systems.
  • Demonstrated experience programming multiple Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Creative problem solver
  • Independent Self Starter/Team Player
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PPT, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to speak with a high level of professionalism and presence to individuals or groups at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to anticipate problems before they occur to eliminate or mitigate issues
  • Troubleshooting / Problem-Solving methodologies (Six Sigma or similar).
  • Interpersonal skills to lead improvement efforts, seeking input and feedback, and implementation of improvement efforts and projects.


Required Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or in a relevant discipline. Minimum 3 years related work experience in process and/or packaging engineering. 


  • Some overtime, some holidays and weekends are required
  • Minimal travel required
  • Some Supervisory Responsibility
  • Must be able to perform tasks such as climbing, lifting and standing for long periods of time
  • Must be able to perform tasks while wearing all required PPE such as but not limited to protective clothing, safety glasses/goggles, steel-toed boots
