The job holder is responsible for managing the facilities at the Thames Refinery, Plaistow Wharf and Bedford Street sites. 



  • Develop, implement, and maintain a strong office and facilities management programme  including preventative maintenance and life-cycle requirements, ensuring building space is used appropriately and maintained effectively including those areas which may not be in use
  • Manage the site wide contracts including the outsourced facilities contract covering service lines for security, post room services, cleaning, waste etc. and company car fleet, ensuring service levels are met
  • Ensure regular facilities and premises inspections, prioritizing safety and energy efficiency
  • Manage tendering and contract review processes to ensure that the Company receives the best value for money
  • Direct and co-ordinate the work undertaken by the relevant contractors
  • Own all property management responsibilities and be the first contact for tenants of Company owned properties
  • Actively manage budget, identifying and delivering efficiency, sustainability and cultural targets for the business



  • Experience with budgets and successful capital programmes
  • Demonstrable experience of providing a compliant and safe workplace to support organisational culture



  • No specific education requirement although strong level of literacy and numeracy must be demonstrated



  • Current and in depth knowledge of M&E services as well as Soft Services
  • Good understanding of relevant Health & Safety and environmental legislation and regulations
  • Excellent project management and coordination skills
  • Strong interpersonal and excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work on own initiative, to tight deadlines in a demanding environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to critically analyse contracts, tenancy agreements, KPIs
  • Excellent Budget management experience and strong negotiation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook



  • Thames Refinery is the primary base, but time will also be spent working at all UK sites
