Florida Crystals is a leading domestic sugar producer and North America’s first fully integrated cane sugar company, guiding our sugar from farm to table.  We are America’s first and only producer of certified organic sugar, grown and harvested in the United States. Our renewable energy facility is the largest of its kind in North America and provides clean energy that powers our sugar operations, which helps us reduce our use of fossil fuels.  Florida Crystals also sustainably farms rice, sweet corn and other vegetables in rotation with our sugarcane.  Our rice mill is the only rice mill in Florida. 



Corporate Counsel with transactional and commercial experience including contracts for the sale and purchase of goods and services, financing transactions, joint venture and acquisition transactions; reviewing, drafting, revising and negotiating contracts related to, among other things, logistics, marketing, products, licensing, customer, supplier, joint development, supply and non-disclosure agreements. The position reports to the Sr. Corporate Counsel.



  • Works closely with other corporate departments, such as finance, accounting, purchasing, engineering, agricultural, manufacturing, safety, environmental, human resources, and risk management, to understand the needs of the business and to provide practical and timely advice.
  • Reviewing, drafting, revising and negotiating contracts related to, among other things, software licensing, marketing, products, customer and supplier agreements; master supply agreements, non-disclosure agreements; joint development agreements; licensing agreements.
  • Advising on commercial transactions including contracts for the sale and purchase of goods and services, logistics contracts, secured financing transactions, licensing of software and other intellectual property, joint venture and acquisition transactions. 
  • Counsel business partners on a variety of business law issues and have general knowledge of corporate law.
  • Identifies opportunities for efficiencies and coordinates with outside counsel, vendors and colleagues on process improvements
  • Manage outside counsel but the majority of the work is completed in-house.



  • 2-5 years of experience of corporate transactional experience including 1 year in a top-tier law firm.
  • Admission to Bar; Florida or New York preferred.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Experience managing outside counsel
  • Prefer legal experience in industrial manufacturing and agriculture, commodities industries
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office suite
  • The candidate must have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of the Bar (Florida or New York preferred). Should have 2-5 years
