Master Data Coordinator

OVERVIEW

The Master Data Coordinator reports to the Master Data Lead and will be responsible for collecting, sorting, profiling, manipulating, and maintaining various sets of master data. Such data may be housed in a variety of databases either existing, or not yet implemented, to include SAP, PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), PIM (Product Information Management), QM (Quality Management) as well as various third party systems that perform the same functions. The Master Data Coordinator will work with the Master Data Lead and Master Data Analysts to support data projects and assist in the development of data governance, data dictionaries, policies, processes and procedures that promote best practice and support the mission of the data and analytics team.

 

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and gather master data in support of various system implementations.
  • Support various IT related projects and project tasks as assigned.
  • Assist in documentation of Global Data Governance process and procedures.
  • Assist in the documentation of data dictionaries and end user training.
  • Assist other teams in the review, collection, and correction of data artifacts.
  • Coordinate with Master Data Analyst to ensure accuracy and completeness of both internal (from Sales, QA or Production) and external data requests (from customers).
  • Communicates with the user community any global changes to master data files.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of a classification and attribute/characteristic system used in the detailed definition of products – whether in SAP, PLM, PIM.
  • Coordinate & execute data related changes for areas impacted as a result of standardization, elimination of duplicates, changes to specifications, etc. (Artwork, Pallet dimensions, Nutritional changes etc.).
  • Coordinate with multiple departments (New Product Development, Packaging Engineering, Sales and Marketing, and Quality) to collect create and maintain finished product specifications with SAP PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) specification management system.
  • Educate end users (marketing, sales, regulatory, legal, supply chain) on use of GS1 requirements and standards for products, packaging, labels, etc.,
  • Transfer and translate technical details from our own New Product Development teams, Packaging Engineers, Sales, and Marketing into various applications, both internal and external.
  • Executes the Corporate Master Data model for finished products to comply with external (GS1) and internal standards.
  • Interpret and apply GS1/GDSN Standards for the resolution of identified data issues.
  • Regularly monitor and analyze Data Synchronization error reports in GDSN.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify data synchronization errors in GDSN.
  • Track and manage progress of GDSN related data request projects from various customers, with ability to report regularly on progress.
  • Manage and maintain GDSN data pools globally.
  • Monitor, maintain and approve finished product requests in SAP MDG (Master Data Governance) system.

 

WORK EXPERIENCES

  • Prior SAP experience
  • 2-4 years of experience in a data related discipline.
  • Knowledge and understanding of GS1 Standards (GS1 Foundational certification a plus).
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and procedures employed in the maintenance of master data.
  • Strong ability to document detailed processes and procedures.

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree required with 3+ years related business experience
