Our renewable energy facility is the largest of its kind in North America and provides clean energy that powers our sugar operations, which helps us reduce our use of fossil fuels.  Florida Crystals also sustainably farms rice, sweet corn and other vegetables in rotation with our sugarcane.  Our rice mill is the only rice mill in Florida. 

 

OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Senior Corporate Counsel, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting 3 attorneys with administrative and law related assignments.

 

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently solve legal and business administrative problems (requires no special, prior knowledge other than general, business and contract paralegal training and experience).
  • Handle, with supervision, commercial contract matters, which include negotiation and preparation of agreements for purchasing agreements, NDAs, and simple template matters. Digital comparison of documents and heavy redlining skills required.
  • Create and maintain summaries of department matters, maintain IP certificates, order supplies, and other Adminstrative functions.
  • Maintain a contract database and open matters on electronic filing system.
  • Communicate verbally or in writing to requests for information from corporate personnel and outside parties about company contracts and transactions and communicate directly with third parties about legal, contract and business matters.
  • Maintain a calendar to track important contract dates and events.
  • Keep supervisor informed with a current list of legal projects, issues and activities.
  • Legal Tracker billing, including creating billing matters, sending/receiving law firm engagement letters
  • Electronic file administrator (training provided- iManage experience preferred)
  • Process invoices, check requests, expense reports
  • Iron Mountain retrieval & management of records stored off-site

 

WORK EXPERIENCES

  • Minimum of 8 years of Paralegal experience

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred 
  • HS diploma or equivalent, required
