OVERVIEW

The Corporate Accounting Manager will be responsible for all the financial activities of Domino Foods including the monthly close and journal entries, account reconciliations, tax reporting and all audit requests.  Candidate will also prepare management reporting packages, financial and operational analysis, assist in improving operational efficiencies, preparing budgets & forecasts, approving invoices, and reviewing brokerage and purchase orders. This candidate will possess an in-depth understanding of accounting principles and internal controls, manage the coordination of the month-end and year-end close, ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements and cost reports, and utilize analytical skills to identify and report on variances. This candidate will be responsible for the supervision of 2-3 accountants.   

 

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)

  • Minimum of 6+ years Accounting experience
  • Public Accounting experience required.  Big 4 Public Accounting experience, a plus.
  • Excellent analysis, and report preparation capabilities
  • Excellent GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) capabilities and experience
  • Review of financial statements and preparation of detail reports for month end reporting package
  • Experience in balance sheet and cash flows
  • Experience in preparation of operational reporting packages
  • Excellent analytical skills, excel and pivot tables, and other advanced windows applications skills are required
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to develop relationships and interact with all departments within the organization is a must  to support overall cost control efforts and operation
  • Accountability skills to take ownership
  • Strong supervisory skills
  • Self-starter who can work with minimal direction

 

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all reporting and activities of DFI Financial Reporting, including preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Monthly closing, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Review and analyses of accounting month-end results
  • Tax reporting for DFI
  • Audit requests
  • Assist with sales budget
  • Review and approve monthly brokerage activity
  • Fairtrade accounting and reporting
  • Assist in the development of cost saving initiatives and continuous improvement programs  
  • Assist in analysis and evaluation of performance metrics across various operational divisions
  • Prioritizing and time management
  • Develop close working relationships with key departmental managers to provide financial management support

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA Certification, a plus
  • Proven accounting experience and thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and internal controls
  • Extensive ERP experience, SAP preferred
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred
