ASR’s Finance organization seeks a talented aspiring business leader to learn our business across two separate assignments, contribute meaningfully from day one, and with success, progress into senior Finance roles.


The opportunity is a rotational position and will begin their ASR career as a Manager in the Plant Controlling Group for 2 years. The position will subsequently rotate to a position in the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) group for an additional 2 years.  Following successful completion of these two assignments, candidates will be promoted into more senior finance roles at ASR.


For the first 2 years, the position will report to the Director of Managerial Accounting and Reporting and will begin their ASR career understanding and learning the sugar refining business, plant controlling, standard costing and leading analysis aimed at improving the efficiency and sustainability of ASR operations (e.g., sugar refining, packaging, maintenance, distribution).  The position will provide support for some of the business’s most critical decisions.  Additionally, this role will assist in tracking operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to be included in reporting to senior management.


After approximately 2 years, the Manager, Finance will transition into FP&A.  As part of ASR’s FP&A team, the candidate will perform analyses to identify value creation opportunities across all aspects of ASR’s business (e.g., operations, supply chain, sales, and marketing) and prepare recommendations to senior ASR leadership that enable decisions and shape ASR strategy.  Following successful completion of these two assignments, candidates will be promoted into more senior Finance or business roles.



  • Use critical thinking and analysis to drive and lead change across all aspects of ASR’s business – particularly in operations, but also supply chain, sales, marketing and other functions as needed
  • Extract insights from data and effectively use images, charts, and conceptual frameworks to synthesize that data
  • Develop actionable recommendations
  • Create and deliver professional presentations to senior leadership
  • Collaborate with ASR colleagues across functions and regions in implementing solutions
  • Drive continuous process improvement within Finance and across all ASR processes
  • Support ASR’s annual budget process, to include detailed evaluation of all budget plans, budget compilation, and final presentation



  • 3+ years’ total professional experience preferred, with Accounting, Finance, IT Technology, Data Science or Supply Chain Procurement
  • Highly analytical with a Finance, IT, Economics or Statistics background
  • Experience supporting and analyzing performance of manufacturing & distribution operations is a plus



  • B.A. or B.S. required.  Strong academic record required.  Relevant course work in Accounting, Corporate Finance, and the Sciences preferred
  • M.B.A., or Master’s in Finance/Accounting-related field of study is a plus but not required
  • CPA or overseas Chartered Accountant, Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Chartered Management Accountant (CMA) is a plus but not required



  • Data sleuth – approaches problems with an unbiased, objective, and data-first approach
  • Proactive with a willingness to learn about our business, leaving your desk and spending time in a manufacturing environment
  • Comfortable in communicating with stakeholders at all levels of seniority
  • Highly analytical and with an ability to draw insight from large data sets
  • Strong knowledge of financial and accounting concepts required
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost accounting principles is a plus but not required
  • Strong Excel / Power BI / PowerPoint skills – beneficial.  A willingness to learn – essential
  • Organized and capable of prioritizing and managing multiple activities simultaneously
  • Experience with ERP Systems like SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics - beneficial
  • Experience using Analytical software like Anaplan, Tableau etc. – beneficial - with willingness to learn
