OVERVIEW

This position relates to ASR Group’s U.S. business reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager.  This candidate will possess an in-depth understanding of accounting principles and internal controls, assist in the coordination of the month-end and year-end close, ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements and cost reports, and utilize analytical skills to identify and report on variances. The Company is embarking on a reporting process that will automate the delivery of financial reports. Accordingly, it is important that the incumbent be open to change and to the use of IT resources to streamline work. As this change is implemented, the Finance Department role is expected to become more analytical and less transactional in nature.

Candidate must be proactive, ambitious and keen to develop a broad understanding of the business.

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support and assist in the coordination of the monthly close process including quarterly and year-end procedures
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and monthly B/S account reconciliations (i.e. prepaid, cash, payroll, accruals, etc.)
  • Assist with the preparation of the monthly financial reporting package and annual audited financial statements
  • Assist with the monthly consolidation process
  • Analyze monthly cost and variance reports and prepare financial commentaries
  • Assist with financial audits and tax requests
  • Prepare various government reports and surveys
  • Maintain global financial master data throughout the various ERP systems, including security access
  • Assist with the development and improvement of ERP systems (Anaplan)
  • Prepare and design ad hoc reports and analyses, as required
  • Participate in projects, group initiatives, implementations, and system upgrades
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA License and additional certifications (such as CMA) not required but a plus
  • 0-1 year of accounting experience
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and internal controls
  • ERP experience, SAP preferred
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills and other Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Power Point, and others)
