OVERVIEW
The Corporate Engineering Intern will support the Corporate Engineering team with capital projects, process improvement initiatives, data analysis, and technical documentation across multiple manufacturing and operational sites. This internship is designed to provide hands-on engineering experience in a corporate environment, exposure to cross-functional teams, and practical application of engineering principles in support of safety, efficiency, cost, and operational excellence objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support corporate and site-based engineering projects, including capital improvement initiatives, equipment upgrades, and process optimization efforts
- Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting related to project performance, energy usage, water usage, and operational metrics
- Support preparation of technical documentation such as project scopes, Statements of Work (SOWs), layouts, calculations, and presentations
- Participate in project meetings and assist with tracking action items, schedules, and deliverables
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and other cross-functional partners to support project execution
- Assist with development and maintenance of engineering standards, procedures, and best practices
- Conduct field observations and site walkthroughs, as appropriate, to gain understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost reduction
- Perform other engineering-related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Civil, or related discipline)
Experience & Skills:
- Strong interest in manufacturing, industrial, or corporate engineering environments
- Basic knowledge of engineering principles and problem-solving methodologies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); exposure to AutoCAD or similar tools is a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and adapt in a fast-paced, industrial setting
PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Combination of office and field/site environments. Will be based at an operating facilities and exposure to manufacturing conditions, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
