OVERVIEW
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for all operations of the Warehouse & Shipping department including the Bulk Loading Department. This person manages approximately 70 employees, salaried and hourly personnel, within a union setting. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a fast-paced, challenging environment in which achievement in driving change in culture, procedures, and measurable performance was attained.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Overall responsibility for 24/7 warehouse distribution operations
- Optimization of facility layout and inventory management
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities throughout department
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality standards and Good Manufacturing Practices
- Departmental budgeting and adherence
- Ensure Warehousing and Shipping areas are audit ready at all times
WORK EXPERIENCES
- Minimum 7 years of Distribution and Logistics experience in a high-volume operation, of which at least 4 years must be in a leadership role
- Familiarity with identifying and driving Key Performance Indicators in Logistics / Distribution / Customer Service
- Experience with creating & maintaining various management reports & budgets
- Experience in Warehouse/Distribution Center lay-outs
- Accomplished results in Warehouse/Distribution Center performance improvement
- Experience managing salaried supervisors and working in a union environment
- Consumer Product Goods/ Retail Distribution industry experience is a plus
- Demonstrated Experience with SAP strongly preferred
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or related area of study
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
- Manages development and performance of staff comprised of salaried supervisors and 60+ hourly employees
- Ensures Labor Contract is followed by all employees, and reports any potential violation
- Review performance for salaried employees and identify training needs
- Review and issue disciplinary measures according to the Labor Contract and Company Policy

- Results oriented with a focus on customer service
- Skilled in Inventory Control, Facility Management, Warehouse Material Handling, Receiving/Shipping procedures and controls
- Must have a working knowledge of warehousing software, ideally SAP and EWM
- MS Office (Excel / Word / Email) proficiency required
