OVERVIEW
The primary responsibility of the Utility Worker is to separate damaged product from pallets and re-palletize the product according to proper storage guidelines. They also perform general warehouse sanitation; relieve production lines and all other jobs assigned by the Warehouse Foreman.

 

DETAILED DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Rework damaged and/or partial pallets in accordance with the proper pallet patterns/quantities
  • Follows proper labeling procedures to identify reworks and reprocess product
  • Accurately record all product dumped into hoppers; including name, quantity and code date
  • Safely store product in proper storage location following warehouse storage guidelines
  • Maintain a high level of sanitation in work area
  • Dump full hoppers in location designated by Warehouse Foreman
  • Dispose of trash in properly marked containers
  • Other duties as assigned

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide with reasonable competence
  • Must wear all required P.P.E. and follow all G.M.P. Guidelines
  • Must be proficient in the proper and safe operations of a forklift truck
  • Must exercise proper judgment as to the stability of pallets when stacking
  • Must be proficient in proper loading procedures
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, rotating shifts, holidays and overtime as needed
  • Required to climb in and out of lift truck and may occasionally climb stairs
  • Required to have the visual and physical capability to operate the fork lift truck accurately
  • Upper extremity function is needed for grasping, pushing, pulling and lifting
  • Lifting requirements are up to 10 lbs constantly, 20 lbs frequently, and 50 lbs occasionally
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • At least 1 year experience working in an industrial setting preferred

 

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED is required
