JOB SUMMARY:

Our manufacturing company needs a full time Electrical/Instrumentation Technician, who is responsible for design, implement, and improve electrical facilities and systems for commercial, industrial, and utility purposes.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Design, implement, and improve electrical facilities and systems for commercial, industrial, and utility purposes.
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Direct and coordinate construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Perform Scheduled Maintenance and preventative repairs on all electrical systems, equipment, and machinery. Review maintenance schedules and adjust them as necessary to keep systems functioning at peak levels.
  • Repair Electrical Systems and machinery malfunction.
  • Troubleshoot Malfunctions and make inspections to assess potential problems.
  • Recommend changes or upgrades to electrical systems to increase productivity and functionality.
  • Perform regular tests to new and existing electrical systems, equipment, and machinery, both to spot potential problems and to ensure that systems are operating at their highest possible levels of functionality.
  • Plan and implement methodologies and procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
  • Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment and/or the solicitations of labor.
  • Supervise and train project team members, as necessary.
  • Oversee project construction efforts to assure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget.
  • Assist in developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.
  • Develop budgets, estimate labor, material, and construction costs.
  • Compile data and write reports regarding existing and potential engineering studies and projects.
  • Maintain a high level of integrity and discipline with a strong work ethic.
  • Any other tasks required from time to time as may be assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Degree from technical school related to this specific duty or two year related experience in the field is required
  • Must have knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Must have knowledge of drafting and experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team.

  • Strong time management skills
  • Be flexible, reliable and well organized
  • Work and disciplinary record will be considered
  • Good verbal, reading, writing and basic math skills
  • Physically able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to: sitting, walking, climbing, kneeling, lifting, reaching and pulling.
  • Must be able to frequently lift 25 to 60 pounds
