OVERVIEW

The Quality Control Tech conducts chemical and physical laboratory tests of solid materials and liquids, analyzes test data, and performs routine Quality Audits of the Quality System, Manufacturing Process, and Facility. The Tech also investigates non-conforming materials and issues Holds, provides support for disposition of Held materials, and assists in continuous improvement investigations.

 

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sets up laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control.
  • Tests and analyzes materials used as ingredients, in process materials, and finished products to verify conformity to specifications.
  • Documents results of tests and analyses on standardized forms, writes test reports, and prepares graphs and charts.
  • Prepares chemical solutions according to standard formulas; cleans, calibrates, and operates test equipment.
  • Uses SAP to locate information about ingredients, packaging, and finished products for traceability purposes.
  • Performs routine Quality System Audits, Facility GMP Inspections, and Production Process Audits.
  • Reviews and maintain completed production records for conformance to GMP documentation requirements, obtains needed corrections, and files.
  • Creates, revises, and reviews controlled GMP documents.
  • Performs investigations to identify root cause and corrective actions.
  • Uses PowerPoint and other methods to deliver Quality topic training to new hires and small employee groups.

 

WORK EXPERIENCES

  • 1+ years in a Quality Auditor or Quality Control position in a manufacturing facility required, preferably RTE food manufacturing
  • Prior experience with FDA regulated industry or Safe Quality Food (SQF), BRC, AIB certified  industry preferred
  • Experience conducting internal quality audits and inspections preferred
  • Experience working with minimal to no supervision required

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED); or equivalent experience as determined by HR required
  • Bachelors or Associates Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a similar field preferred
