OVERVIEW

The Knuckle Boom Operator is responsible for operating and relocating pumps, moving farm equipment, and performing basic pump maintenance like checking fluids, greasing, and reporting issues. The job includes placing booms, keeping pump areas and equipment organized, ensuring safety compliance, helping with loading/unloading, supporting techs, communicating with supervisors, and assisting with spills or cleanup.

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)

• Move, install, and relocate pumps in or out of service as needed.
• Move farm equipment safely and efficiently.
• Complete pump maintenance inspections, including greasing equipment, checking fluid levels, adjusting belts, inspecting hydraulic systems, checking the boom truck, and reporting any damages to the shop or supervisor.
• Communicate effectively and comply with established safety standards.
• Place booms near pump stations where needed.
• Ensure all pumps comply with required safety standards.
• Comply with pump maintenance schedules.
• Keep the truck and lifting gear clean, clear, and organized.
• Ensure the areas surrounding pumps are clear and free of weeds or obstructions.
• Operate pumps as needed and communicate with the Farm Manager or Agricultural Technician.
• Assist with spills and cleanup activities.
• Perform other farm duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience in operating knuckle boom
• Knowledge of local roads
• Ability to follow verbal instructions accurately.
• Good physical condition
• Excellent organizational skills and attendance.
• Strong communication
• Pass background check
