OVERVIEW
The Tractor Driver is responsible for operating tractors, implements, and other agricultural machinery. This role also includes general fieldwork as needed. Attendance at trainings, workshops, and staff meetings is required to ensure safe and effective equipment operation.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate farm machinery used in agricultural production including tractors, combines, and irrigation systems.

Conduct daily equipment inspections to ensure proper functioning and report any issues to the supervisor.

Assist with planting by walking beside or riding on mechanical planters at specified intervals.

Adjust machinery settings, monitoring machinery during operation to detect and report any equipment malfunctions to supervisor.

Attach implements (e.g., plows, discs, sprayers) using hand tools.

Perform general fieldwork and assist with seasonal tasks such as ploughing, drilling, fertilizing, and harvesting.

Maintain accurate records related to fertilization and field activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge & Skills

Familiarity with agricultural machinery, tools, and farming processes.

Ability to operate and control equipment with precision.

Skill in monitoring gauges and indicators to ensure proper function.

Problem-solving skills to identify and respond to equipment issues.

Knowledge of appropriate tools and equipment for various farm tasks.
Physical & Sensory Abilities

Strong coordination and motor skills, including the ability to operate equipment using multiple limbs.

Visual acuity for both close-range and distance tasks.

Depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to work in low-light conditions.

Physical strength and stamina to lift, push, pull, bend, stretch, and carry heavy objects.

Steady hand-eye coordination and timing for equipment control.

Experience

Hands-on experience with ploughing, drilling, harvesting (including combining), and fertilizing.

Record-keeping related to fertilization and fieldwork.

Qualifications
