OVERVIEW

Primary responsibility will be to operate Patriot sprayers 3250, or mixer trailers quickdraw systems, and other farm machinery; he will also sometimes perform general fieldwork related to our operations. Participation in training, workshops and staff meetings related to farm operations. Operate all tractors and equipment safely and effectively

 

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)

 

  • Knowledge of sprayer blueprints, how the sprayers operate and the tools, and relevant equipment.
  • Must always be aware of sprayer surroundings to prevent accidents from happening
  • Knowledge of farm locations, field ID numbers and pay attention with maps and how to use applications on devices
  • Able to perform under stress and pressure, can balance workload while performing 2 or more tasks at once
  • Must know how the sprayer works on a mechanical level to be able to report problems accurately to a supervisor or a mechanic
  • Must understand and pay attention to spray orders, and to know how the herbicides work
  • Must be able to work in and around hot environments and work around chemicals
  • Knowledge of processes and procedures in farming.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in farming.
  • Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.
  • Controlling operations of equipment.
  • Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
  • The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
  • The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

  • Daily inspection of equipment to make sure it’s working conditions, and notify supervisors in case something is wrong
  • Walk besides or ride on planting machines while in the mechanical planters at specified intervals
  • Adjust farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions
  • Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, using bolts and hand tools
  • Operate equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines and irrigation equipment
  • Observe and listen to machinery operations to detect equipment malfunction

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Valid driving license
  • Pass Background check
  • Must be able to pass Background, Physical and Drug test
