The Redpath Belleville plant is a blending and packaging operation producing a variety of sugar containing products for customers in Canada and the U.S. The plant operates state of the art high speed mixing and packaging systems supported by high level safety, quality and logistics systems.
OVERVIEW
The Plant Manager – Non-Refining Operations (NRO) is responsible for all facets of leading the Belleville, Ontario site, including leading people, managing effective processes, and delivering performance. The successful individual must be strategic in the sense of being able to think broadly with perspective, as well as tactical in the sense of rolling up his/her sleeves when necessary.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
People:
- Ensures health, safety and environmental (HSE) compliance is adhered to.
- Directly supervise site team, who are responsible for manufacturing and packaging activities, maintenance, materials, and warehousing.
- Provides adequate support, training and development of plant staff and supports performance and talent management activities.
- Be a role model for data driven decision making at the facility.
Process:
- Tracks and reports data for manufacturing cost controls, cost estimates, capacity plan, manpower and facility requirements.
- Implements Food Safety Quality Control functions to meet the Company’s Quality System requirements.
- Helps formulate short and long-term operating procedures in areas such as manufacturing/processing efficiency, quality, and customer service.
- Drives a culture continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S) across the plant. Ensure correct utilization and integrity of SAP and Redzone systems.
- Contribute to forecasting, planning, and scheduling activities.
- Ability to balance cost, quality, safety, and service levels.
Performance:
- Ensures site team delivers on customer requirements relative to food quality and customer service. Drives execution of site strategy to achieve HSE, financial, operational, and people objectives, with accountability for operating budgets, capital investments (CapEx), cost control, and margin improvement.
- Develops and delivers the annual facility operating plan and budget in alignment with corporate manufacturing strategy; monitors performance metrics and leads corrective actions to ensure targets are met.
- Maintains rigorous product quality and food safety standards across all operations.
- Ensures the site consistently meets customer requirements related to product quality, service levels, and delivery performance.
WORK EXPERIENCES
- Professional Experience – 5–10 years of progressive experience with increasing responsibility, including end-to-end oversight of production, quality, maintenance, warehousing, and logistics functions.
- Production Management Experience – Minimum 5 years’ experience in production management with responsibility for managing a department with direct and indirect reports and budgetary responsibility.
- Food or Similar Industry Experience – Food, beverage, pharmaceutical or CPG industry experience in a complex manufacturing environment preferred; or a combination of food manufacturing with manufacturing experience in other similar industries preferred.
- Continuous Improvement – Demonstrated track record of understanding and applying continuous improvement principles and practices including Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma, OEE, yield, waste reduction, and throughput optimization.
- Safety – Strong commitment to workplace health and safety, with hands-on experience managing safety, health, and environmental performance, including safety KPIs, incident reduction programs, audits, and root cause analysis.
- Quality – The ideal candidate has strong expertise in HACCP and preventive controls, with demonstrated experience maintaining high-quality standards through GFSI certification in the food industry or ISO compliance in non-food manufacturing.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university required.

SALARY RANGE/COMPENSATION
- $140,000 to $185,500
- This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus
- The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
