OVERVIEW

The Industrial Cleaner/Sanitor is responsible for executing tasks related to sanitation, dust abatement, facility upkeep, training, and operations support while maintaining an organized, clean, and dust-free work environment.

 

This position requires the flexibility to work various shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and overtime, as needed. Weekend shifts may be mandated based on business needs.

 

 

 

PAY RATE

  • $19/Hour

 

 

 

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment in areas such as offices, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, corridors, stairways, locker rooms, warehouses, production areas, and other assigned facility spaces.
  • Perform dust mitigation and control dust buildup on equipment, platforms, machines, floors, and other assigned areas, including sugar dust and cobweb removal.
  • Document assigned cleaning and sanitation duties throughout the shift in accordance with department expectations.
  • Replenish supplies for PPE, bathrooms, hand wash stations, offices, and other designated areas as needed.
  • Operate cleaning equipment, including broom, mop, motorized floor scrubber, and floor scrubber, to clean plant floors, aisles, warehouses, and assigned work areas.
  • Manage removal and disposal of facility trash, empty pallets, recyclable goods, and other waste materials in support of the facility recycling program.
  • Assist operators with packaging organization, including organizing, covering, and maintaining packaging materials as needed.
  • Assist operators, supervisors, and lead operators with operational support needs as requested.
  • Assist the Quality department with product holds, product inspections, and clerical tasks such as reviewing training documentation.
  • Maintain facility grounds by assisting with building upkeep, indoor and outdoor inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Train and instruct new cleaning personnel and temporary employees on assigned cleaning, sanitation, and facility upkeep responsibilities.
  • Ability to be trained and certified on Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), as required.
  • Work effectively and ensure that food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality are maintained.
  • Report any risks or evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging, or raw materials to a designated manager to enable resolution of issues requiring immediate action.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • HS Diploma or GED preferred but not required

  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.
