OVERVIEW
The Material Handler is responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials within or near plant, yard, or work site. Additionally, the material handler is responsible for emptying super sacks and manually feeding sugar to production lines.
This position requires the flexibility to work various shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and overtime, as needed. Weekend shifts may be mandated based on business needs.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for following work orders and/or verbal instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved

Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, etc. using forklift

Moves finished and raw materials

Unloads and processes super sacks

Manually feeds sugar to production lines

Work effectively and ensure that food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality are maintained.

Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials, to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate action.

May assist with shipping and receiving as needed

All other duties as assigned
WORK EXPERIENCES
-
1-2 years in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred
-
Prior forklift or tow motor experience preferred. Ability to be certified is required.

Proven ability to successfully meet customer and management deadlines.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
-
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required.

Equivalent experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

The expected pay range for this position is $19.00-$22.99/hour and will depend on the candidate’s
