OVERVIEW

Under the direction of the Maintenance Superintendent, provides and directs overall supervision to the activities of the assigned craft personnel in the coordinating, planning, scheduling and performance of major repair work in the refinery. The Supervisor is also responsible for maintaining the technical expertise of the skilled trades, monitoring their skill sets and development of training plans. Must know and apply correct management, maintenance and engineering principles to maintain the sustainability and reliability of the integrated systems of people, materials and equipment. The sustainability and reliability of all of the refinery machinery and systems assures that the refinery can meet business demands. 

 

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the day to day supervision, motivation and training of the mechanical personnel within the area of assignment. 
  • Responsible for the productivity of personnel in regards to timeliness in diagnosing and completing necessary maintenance and repairs. 
  • Monitor effectiveness of the current preventive maintenance program to minimize plant breakdowns due to failure of systems and to update inspections and frequencies to best meet the goal of 100% reliability. 
  • Participate in the planning and scheduling of work to be done by either plant personnel or outside contractors and is responsible for the timely and efficient completion of the work. 
  • Maintain good labor relations, morale and discipline in shop and to initiate corrective actions when required. 
  • Support all other maintenance shops as required including successful completion of daily tasks as well as vacation relief of other maintenance supervisors. 
  • Work with the storeroom personnel to ensure maintenance materials inventory is accurate and available. 
  • Ensure personnel follow all GMP and safety policies. 
  • Work with accountability group(s) to accomplish Key Results and 5S strategy.

WORK EXPERIENCES

  • 5 years supervisory experience on a maintenance team in similar refinery or manufacturing operation required and 10 years electrical and instrumentation experience in an industrial setting
  • Mechanical knowledge is required with Electrical knowledge a plus.  
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and train employees in a team based environment.
  • Must be familiar with NDT methods and be able to interpret vibration and oil analysis reports.
  • Strong computer skills: Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook are required.
  • Scheduling, planning, or similar inventory and PM program is a plus but not required.
  • Some CMMS platform (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards or similar) is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to Lead, Supervise, and make decisions.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays, if appropriate.
  • Industrial food processing experience preferred. 

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience

 

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)

  • Demonstrated experience and skills with plant maintenance, food safety and GMP, problem solving and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, and SAP

The pay range for this position is below. The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. 

 

Range:  $67,000.00 to $124,000.00
