OVERVIEW

The Packaging Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of planning, scheduling and forecasting the packaging maintenance functions.  The Supervisor also supervises packaging maintenance employees and will cover weekend supervision for the department.  

 

 

 

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for coordinating daily, weekly and monthly scheduling of maintenance plans.
  • Achieve the set planned packaging line overhauls and preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Analyzes maintenance repair specifications to determine tools, parts, and human resource requirements.
  • Responsible for ordering parts according to lead times.
  • Monitors parts inventory levels to achieve necessary levels.
  • Updates SAP systems with preventative maintenance data.
  • Communicates between maintenance and packaging production. 
  • Responsible for the supervision, motivation and training of the maintenance personnel within the area of assignment. 
  • Responsible for the productivity of personnel in regards to timeliness in diagnosing and completing necessary maintenance and repairs. 
  • Monitor effectiveness of the preventive maintenance program to minimize plant breakdowns due to failure of systems and to update inspections and frequencies to best meet the goal of 100% reliability. 
  • Maintain good labor relations, morale and discipline in shop and to initiate corrective actions when required. 
  • Ensure personnel follow all GMP and safety policies. 

 

 

WORK EXPERIENCES

  • 5 plus years’ experience in maintenance in a manufacturing facility required. 
  • Scheduling, planning, or similar inventory and PM program required.
  • CI & Root Cause Analysis experience preferred.
  • Experience operating SAP systems preferred.
  • Mechanical knowledge is required with Electrical and PLC knowledge strongly preferred  
  • Intermediate or better skills in Microsoft Office required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail, ability to be proactive and self-directed.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays.
  • Industrial food processing experience preferred.

 

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED required.  BS/BA degree in a related field from an accredited college/university preferred.

The pay range for this position is below. The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. 

 

Range:  $81,500 to $151,500
