OVERVIEW

Under the direction of the Maintenance Team Manager, provides and directs overall supervision to the activities of the reliability maintenance team in the coordinating, planning, scheduling and performance of reliability work in the refinery. The Supervisor is also responsible for maintaining the technical expertise of the skilled trades, monitoring their skill sets and development of training plans. Must know and apply correct management, maintenance and engineering principles to maintain the sustainability and reliability of the integrated systems of people, materials and equipment. The sustainability and reliability of all the refinery machinery and systems assures that the refinery can meet business demands.

 

 

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the day-to-day supervision, motivation, and training of the reliability team.
  • Responsible for the productivity of team regarding the timeliness of the completion of necessary assigned tasks.
  • Responsible for the execution of the Predictive Maintenance Program. This includes Ultrasonic Analysis, Infrared, Vibration Monitoring, General Inspections, Lubrication, and Oil Analysis.
  • Responsible for overseeing all lubrication on equipment belonging to Process Operations.
  • Plan and direct the development, execution, and completion of maintenance action items derived from the Predictive Maintenance Program.
  • Monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of the Predictive Maintenance Program and report any existing barriers or opportunities of improvement.
  • Identify mechanical, quality, and safety risks and repeat failures and develop, execute, and complete corrective actions.
  • Recommend capital projects and larger maintenance projects that require engineering when appropriate.
  • Ensure all food safety and quality standards are maintained as well as safety standards. Ensure team follows all GMP and Safety Policies as well.
  • Work with other Maintenance Supervisors to schedule fully developed maintenance action items and ensure completion with a target of above 60% corrective actions per month.
  • Ensure Predictive Maintenance Program Report is delivered fully and on time monthly.
  • Maintain good labor relations, morale, and discipline with the team to initiate corrective actions when required.
  • Supervise the larger maintenance team on weekends as a part of the weekend supervision rotation, typically once every 6-8 weeks depending on team.
  • This position requires flexibility to work various days, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, as needed.

 

 

WORK EXPERIENCES

  • 3+ years supervisory experience on a maintenance team in a similar refinery or manufacturing operation required.
  • Mechanical knowledge is required with Electrical knowledge a plus.  
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and train employees in a team-based environment.
  • Must be familiar with NDT methods and be able to interpret vibration and oil analysis reports.
  • Strong computer skills: Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook are required.
  • Scheduling, planning, or similar inventory and PM program is a plus but not required.
  • Some previous CMMS platform experience (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards or similar) is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to Lead, Supervise, and make decisions.

 

 

SALARY RANGE

  • $81,500-$151,000
