GENERAL ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a more in depth understanding of the packaging process.
- Obtain a good overview of the whole area - specifically the machinery, process and day-to-day operations. Further understand roles and responsibilities.
- Obtain a detailed understanding of packaging machines in each area - know the key parts of the machinery and how they function.
- Understand how planned maintenance is carried out and what process is followed by Technicians and what they look for or check during the planned maintenance. Understand what an overhaul is and its implications.
- Understand common and unique faults in the area and reactive work carried out.
- Get perspectives of issues and challenges from Technicians.
- CONTRIBUTE: Make recommendations for potential continuous improvement projects in this area and implement where possible
- Plan and organize how the projects in each area should be approached (from root cause analysis to changes or new design concepts) speaking with Technicians, Operators and shift managers demonstrating technical, organizational, planning and project management skills. Build relationships with colleagues in the area.
- Update and develop key documentation, P&ID’s, and all packaging procedures for sustaining the knowledge.
- Provide guidance to the Supervisor Shift Manager on the most appropriate ways to react to particular packaging issues.
- Assist in co-ordinating problem solving effort requiring technical input.
- Assist in managing Safety, Hygiene, Environment and Quality consistent with the Sidul policies to achieve continuous improvement: keep SOP’s (Standard Operations Procedures) and GMP’s (Good manufacturing Practice) updated and ensure compliance; ensure technical focus is consistent for legislative and regulatory compliance.
- To assist on control measures to reduce the risk of intentional contamination of Sidul products – food defence.
- Proactive and committed to continuous improvement by supporting all related activities in packaging area
- Develop, maintain and review appropriate service level relationships with support services e.g. supply chain, warehouse and Purchasing.
- Guarantee the production of products with Quality, Food Safety and Authenticity.
- Promoting the Culture of Quality, Food Safety, Occupational Safety, Environment Sustainability, ensuring compliance with product and process requirements.

- Prior related internship experience is a plus

- Some understanding of automatic control systems and project management.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PPT, Excel, Word) and SAP.
- Fluent in English
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- B.S. or M.S. in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial and Controls, from an accredited college/university. (preferential)
