POSITION SCOPE

Reporting to the Controls Engineering Manager the successful candidate will have responsibility for maintaining and enhancing the Company’s control systems at all London sites. You'll have the opportunity to work on projects such as migration of obslete equipment or update current systems, as well as Capital projects such as new machinery from the ground up. 

 

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and enhance control and instrumentation, hardware and software whilst ensuring refinery operations perform to the optimum level.
  • Communicate with all levels of refinery personnel to ensure understanding of changes to the control systems.
  • Provide specialist instrumentation knowledge to the refinery for capital projects and assist with the replacement of legacy systems when required.
  • Evaluate changes/upgrades to process control systems and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the definition of standards for the development and maintenance of process control systems within the refinery.
  • Provide call out support in line with the company procedure.

 

ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCES

  • Solid project management experience.
  • Excellent understanding of a range of process control tools and techniques, but specifically, Siemens,  Allen Bradley, Aveva, and Aveva ArchestrA.
  • Good fault-finding abilities.
  • Good knowledge of sugar refining operations.

 

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to speak with a high level of professionalism and presence to individuals or groups at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to anticipate problems before they occur to eliminate or mitigate issues.
  • Good written skills and ability to provide documentation.
