  • Working within our FP&A team as a Junior Finance Analyst to develop your career to become a finance professional
  • This is an entry level role for a highly motivated recent graduate from a top university and presents a significant opportunity to develop your career within the finance function of a leading global food producer
  • The successful candidate will be sponsored to complete relevant professional finance qualifications (CIMA – within 3 years) and to become Level 1 and Level 2 Certified on Anaplan (Cloud Based Business Planning Software – within 1 year)  
  • In addition, other on the job training will be provided in a range of finance systems (Excel, SAP, Power BI, BI) and the broader soft skills required to become a successful finance professional
  • The role will initially focus on performing ad-hoc analysis of problems facing our business – with a focus on data analysis.  The successful candidate will then rotate across the broader Operational or Commercial Finance teams, broadening their knowledge of our business (Commercially and Operationally), so ensuring they gain the breadth of experience to truly understand our business and become a trusted and respected finance business partner
  • Upon qualification as an Accountant, you will be well positioned for for progression within Operational or Commercial Finance, FP&A or Financial Reporting teams as opportunity/interest dictate
  • This role will be based at the Thames Refinery in East London.  Central London corporate office as required.
  • This position is an agile working role – therefore you will be able to work from home a couple of days per week.



  • On a day-to-day basis the role will include a mix of responsibilities, which will expand as the candidate develops
  • Initially these tasks will focus on the foundations necessary to become a finance professional, for example analyzing large data sets, model building, performing ad-hoc projects and undertaking CAPEX reviews.  You will work directly for an experienced FP&A manager on projects, enabling on the job learning
  • The role will then develop with a focus on core finance skills, for example standard costing, performing month end and other reporting tasks.  You will also be expected to support colleagues with the delivery of the year-end statutory audit, annual budgeting and quarterly reporting
  • By the third year of the programme, we would expect you to have end-to-end ownership of functional P&L accounts and having responsibility to partner with relevant functional stakeholders
  • Successful completion of professional finance exams (e.g. CIMA) will be a key requirement of the role



  • To be enthusiastic and driven to develop your career as a finance professional in a manufacturing / food production environment

  • To be data driven and have strong attention to detail, taking a forensic view, as required. To be highly analytical
  • Ability to handle large data sets
  • To be organised and capable of managing multiple activities, of varying complexity, producing work with a high degree of accuracy 
  • To be able to work under tight time pressure
  • Excel skills/Power BI/competent in use of VBA and Macros – beneficial. 
  • Experience using SAP or equivalent system – beneficial. 



  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required; technical background/education preferred (e.g. Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics etc.)
