Shift: Mon-Friday 8am-5pm or 7am-4pm.
OVERVIEW
Work with the Engineering Manager to optimise plant performance and maintenance activities by providing effective management for a team of Maintenance Technicians and a broad range of contract staff where necessary.
You'll be responsible for 8 engineers. The main purpose of the role is to provide leadership to the team, put in place standards & processes and making sure the team can achieve these.
You'll also be involved in creating & implementing the planned maintenance schedule.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the role holder, their team and contractors under their responsibility comply with all SHEQ policies and procedures
- Manage the area team of Maintenance Technicians, ensuring that safety, quality and throughput standards and targets are achieved
- Work closely with Packaging Team Managers and other senior engineers ensuring the optimum prioritisation of activities to ensure plant operational and maintenance needs are met
- Plan, schedule and agree daily/weekly workloads with the Engineering Manager, incorporating preventative, planned and reactive activities
- Manage all planned and reactive E/I and mechanical maintenance activities including cleaning, optimising available resources and contractors to ensure expedient, high-quality repairs and servicing
- Ensure regular and consistent communication to teams and individuals through individual 121’s, team meetings and briefing sessions
- Work with their team to initiate and deliver CI and other projects to improve plant reliability
- Provide cost estimates for improvement projects and generate capital requests for these projects managing all costs when authorised
- Participate in RCM and RCA studies of TLS plant to derive and sustain optimum maintenance regimes
- Administer and review SAP maintenance system for budgeting, historical trend & reliability analysis
- Plan and implement maintenance procedures, engineering Standards/Specifications, Risk assessments, Method statements and other SHEEQ systems
ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCES
- Relevant experience maintenance within a packing or process environment
- Multi-skilled across a range of engineering trades
- Experience of Predictive/Preventative maintenance techniques and regimes
- Experience of leading and performance managing small teams
- Knowledge of Health, Safety & environmental systems & procedures
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Preferably an HNC/ NVQ 4 in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
