What will you be doing?

As a Piping & Fabrication Engineer you will come with practical experience and knowledge of welding, pipe fitting, fabrication, scaffolding and working with insulation contractors. You will be supporting our Fabrication & Piping Supervisor with weekly plans, identifying skills required for onsite works and estimating time frames to minimise melt stops and plant downtime.

This is not a hands on position, we are looking for a candidate who will provide the interface between contractors, production and maintenance personnel, write risk assessments, permits to work, obtain quotes for additional work, carry out audits and ensure all piping and fabrications work are carried out to the required high health and safety standards as well as focusing efforts on ensuring installations produce improvements and longevity against erosion, corrosion and chemical attack.

 

Hours of Work - Monday to Friday – 7am – 3pm

Location – Thames Refinery (East London)

 

What are we looking for?

  • Extensive practical experience of plant maintenance, piping and fabrication within an automated continuous process environment.
  • Evidence of training on piping standards and material types, weld coding and practices.
  • Experience of planning and organizing engineering tasks often involving contractor resources.
  • Experience of managing health and safety requirements for contractors.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques relating to pipe work failures.
  • Demonstrated planning skills, problem solving and a methodical approach.
  • Proven organisation skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exposure to Financial / budgetary management.
  • Compilation of scopes of work for contractors
  • Champion all Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental targets
