- 4 days on, 4 off, 4 nights on, 8 days off (Holidays rostered in).
POSITION SCOPE
To efficiently operate plant within the Refining Area, ensuring the required safety, quality and environmental standards and production targets are achieved.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate the plant in line with Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring the required safety, quality and environmental standards and production targets are achieved
- Utilise the plant computer systems to ensure efficient plant performance and to interrogate the systems for deviation of process parameters taking appropriate corrective action as required.
- Complete required quality checks, comparing results against specified parameters and following Company Quality procedures for action where required. Make adjustments to plant and processing conditions when appropriate to ensure agreed specifications are maintained.
- Ensure equipment is clean and tested and report faults in a timely manner to achieve established conditions for the optimisation of energy, water and steam usage and minimisation of sugar loss.
- Use knowledge and experience to anticipate problems where possible and to solve problems when they do occur using trained methods.
- Work within the multi-disciplinary Refinery team, escalating problems and faults where further assistance is required to Technicians, Shift Management or Process Managers.
- Maintain shift logs and clearly communicate handover information and issues within Process team
- Be involved in continuous improvement projects where appropriate
- Carry out plant remedial works including cleaning, clearing and correct assembly to ensure equipment reliability.
- Perform tasks and treatments in the work environment to the required safety, quality and hygiene standards.
ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERINCE & COMPETENCIES
- Relevant experience in a manufacturing process or related food industry
- Verbal & written communication skills to accurately describe problems, causes and solutions
- IT competent to monitor and operate equipment using control systems, and to input and access data
- Planning skills to ensure routine activities can be completed
- Ability to trouble shoot and show initiative
- Knowledge of safety, environment, hygiene and quality considerations applicable to refinery operations
- Positive and proactive contributor in a team environment
