What will you be doing?

We are seeking a highly skilled and Global Savvy Procurement Manager who will be responsible for the management of purchasing activities in Direct Materials and MRO for Tate & Lyle Sugars (ASR Europe). As part of your role, you will play an integral part in our European business decision making, utilising your outstanding cross functional relationships.

 

This is a Team Management position where you will encourage accountability within the procurement team for day-to-day performance, fostering a culture of urgency to enhance customer service and commercial outcomes, while also prioritising training and development opportunities to support the team’s growth and expertise.

 

Reporting into our Senior Director of Supply Chain, you have a dotted line with Materials Management Team with responsibility to manage all spend for our European Business.

 

As our Procurement Manager you will -

  • Build and maintain collaborative cross functional relationships between the Procurement team and its internal customers.
  • Develop and implement an effective supplier relationship management program to drive improvements in supplier performances and added-value contributions.
  • Develop and present market-competitive category management strategies covering the key sub-categories and commodity groups.
  • Support the delivery of short, medium, and long term corporate and regional objectives at an asset level.
  • Develop Procurement’s core processes, standard operating procedures and category management strategies.
  • Drive commercial input with the ability to take and execute market opportunities.
  • Responsible for maintaining and accountability of KPI’s.
  • Expert in contract negotiations, pricing analysis and markets forecasting.
  • Prepare and present complex information to C-Suite Level Executives.

 

This role is based at our Thames Refinery in East London, minimum 4 days a week onsite.

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • Extensive Procurement Management experience.
  • Ideally FMCG / fast paced production environment
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and orientation.
  • Strong Commercial Acumen, negotiation & influencing skills.
  • Proactively resolves quality and commercial issues with vendor and internal customers.
  • International awareness, knowledge and understanding of people and markets.
  • Continuous Improvement mindset
  • Experienced with Purchasing, Contract Law, Lean, Benchmarking, Financial Analysis
  • SAP experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and IT skills.
