Journeyman Machinist

OVERVIEW

The Journeyman Machinist is responsible for repairing and overhauling all rotating equipment with the refinery.

 DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs mechanical repairs to pumps, compressors, gearboxes, valves, and screw conveyors, etc.
• Operates various metal shaping machinery such as lathes and milling machines

• Performs assigned duties while observing safety standards and good housekeeping requirements including proper care of tools, materials and equipment.

WORK EXPERIENCES

• Candidates should have at least five years of experience as an inside/outside machinist working with lathes, milling machines and other typical machine shop equipment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or GED required

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)

• Must be able to read blue prints
• Ability to coordinate hand and foot controls and maneuver equipment in confined areas.
• Should have ability to frequently lift moderately heavy materials and equipment
• Considerable physical effort required to include climbing, lying in prone position, crouching, kneeling, carrying, pushing and pulling
• Ability to lift 50lbs over head
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including overtime, weekends and holidays as required

HOURLY RATE

• Starting Rate: $34.68
