OVERVIEW
The Journeyman Machinist is responsible for repairing and overhauling all rotating equipment with the refinery.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs mechanical repairs to pumps, compressors, gearboxes, valves, and screw conveyors, etc.
- Operates various metal shaping machinery such as lathes and milling machines
- Performs assigned duties while observing safety standards and good housekeeping requirements including proper care of tools, materials and equipment.
WORK EXPERIENCES
- Candidates should have at least five years of experience as an inside/outside machinist working with lathes, milling machines and other typical machine shop equipment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED required
ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)
- Must be able to read blue prints
- Ability to coordinate hand and foot controls and maneuver equipment in confined areas.
- Should have ability to frequently lift moderately heavy materials and equipment
- Considerable physical effort required to include climbing, lying in prone position, crouching, kneeling, carrying, pushing and pulling
- Ability to lift 50lbs over head
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including overtime, weekends and holidays as required
HOURLY RATE
- Starting Rate: $34.68
