The ArcGIS Data Center Leader will be responsible for leading the development, governance, maintenance, and continuous improvement of BSI’s ArcGIS and agricultural data environment. The role ensures that geospatial, grower, land, cadastral, and agronomic information is accurate, integrated, accessible, secure, and actionable. Through reliable mapping, spatial analysis, dashboards, reporting, data governance, and stakeholder support, the role enables effective agricultural planning, field execution, grower service, land administration, and strategic decision-making across the agriculture function.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Agricultural Engineering, Topographic Engineering, Geographical Data Management, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in GIS, geospatial analysis, database administration, agricultural information systems, land information systems, or a related technical environment.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with ArcGIS or equivalent geospatial platforms for mapping, spatial analysis, geodatabase design, data management, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of data integration, data quality management, structured geodatabase design, metadata management, and data governance practices.
  • Experience working with agricultural, land-use, cadastral, grower, or operational datasets is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to analyze data and present technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.

  • Robust management of geodatabases through the structuring of feature datasets, domains, attributes, quality rules, naming standards, and update protocols.
  • Ability to interpret technical data and communicate findings, limitations, risks, and recommendations in a practical, user-friendly manner.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across departments and levels of the organization, including field, administrative, technical, and management stakeholders.

 

 

 Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, implementation, administration, and ongoing enhancement of a centralized ArcGIS-based geospatial information system to support agricultural operations, land administration, grower service, and business decision-making.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve geospatial databases, map layers, dashboards, standard reports, and analytical tools that consolidate key information from internal and external data sources.
  • Integrate and manage data from grower records, land administration files, field surveys, productivity records, weather information, agronomic references, cadastral information, and other operational systems to improve data visibility, reliability, and consistency.
  • Establish, document, and enforce data governance standards, including data quality controls, validation protocols, update cycles, user access controls, naming conventions, metadata requirements, and record retention practices.
  • Produce accurate and timely maps, spatial analysis, dashboards, periodic reports, and management presentations to support crop planning, field planning, grower support, land use analysis, productivity monitoring, and strategic agricultural initiatives.
  • Partner with the Director of Farming Operation and cross-functional stakeholders to identify business priorities, translate information needs into practical geospatial solutions, and ensure the effective use of GIS outputs in day-to-day operations.
  • Coordinate the collection, cleaning, validation, updating, and reconciliation of agricultural and geospatial data to maintain a reliable and current ArcGIS environment.
