The Credit Officer will oversee the credit facility for sugar cane growers enrolled in the BSI AgGrowPro Program. The focus is to review and recommend credit to growers and monitor payments to reduce bad debts.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or any other related field
  • 1-3 years’ experience in credit control, accounts receivables, finance or accounting, and customer accounts management
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems is an asset
  • Knowledge of credit evaluation and risk assessment would be an asset

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and accounting software
  • May be required to work extended hours during month end or audit periods

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Review of credit applications submitted for farm services
  • Cross-check Cane Layer data against submitted applications for accuracy and completeness
  • Conduct financial assessment to determine farmers’ eligibility
  • Prepare and execute contracts for farm services
  • Prepare repayment schedules to forward to Finance team to subsequently forward to banking institutes
  • Prepare and issue memos to Finance team for services performed
  • Monitor repayment of loans over term of loan
  • Prepare monthly status reports on loan payments
  • Provide Finance team with proof of cash payments for arrangements including cash repayments
  • Liaise with vendors for ordering and delivery of products
  • Prepare purchase orders and goods receipts for all materials to be used for farm services
  • Maintain complete and organized records for each application, contract and addendum
