The E&I Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control equipment at the Factory and Power Plant. Also, ensure that the equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with production requirements while minimizing downtime. This position will provide effective maintenance, installation and upkeep of Refrigeration & Air Conditioning equipment.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum High School Diploma in vocational/technical studies.
  • Preferred Sixth Form Diploma/Certificate or equivalent technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics, in Air-conditioning & Refrigeration or a related technical field. 
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance, preferably in Sugar Factory or Power Plant or manufacturing plant or heavy Industrial Environment.
  • Licensed technician (is a plus)

 

Skills and Competencies: 

  • Knowledge of PLC systems, sensors, and industrial automation.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and P&IDs.
  • Experience with motor controls, VFDs, and industrial electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with process instrumentation calibrations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills & able to clearly explain ideas/recommendations.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a production environment and to work as part of a team sharing the same goals and objectives.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and follow all safety and PPE requirements.

 

 Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including motors, MCCs, control panels, transformers, and power distribution systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in plant machinery and power plant.
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation such as pressure transmitters, flow meters, level sensors, temperature sensors, control valves.
  • Troubleshooting PLC-based control systems and associate’s instrumentations.
  • Requisitions for materials required for the smooth operation of the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning equipment and assists in verification of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning spares purchased/supplied
  • Support the operation of automated and semi-automated process equipment including, Boilers, Turbines, Pumps, Centrifuges, Conveyors, Evaporators and Crystallizers.
  • Carries out routine checks and logs of the status of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning equipment.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance inspections and servicing of electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Always follow plant safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, industry standards, and company procedures.
  • Update maintenance logs and equipment history records.
  • Assist in preparing maintenance reports and work orders.
  • Maintenance calibration records for instrumentation equipment.
