The Supervisor, Cane Farmer Production Development Services, will serve as a strategic link between farmers and the company to drive continuous improvement in sugar cane yields for farmers with core responsibilities as follows:
- Responsible for leading and overseeing farmer support programs in AgGrowPro that are aimed at increasing sugarcane productivity, improving farm management practices, and enhancing sustainable cane production.
- Coordinates the recruitment and implementation of quality farm services between teams: of field officers, agronomists and farm credit.
- Manage farm development initiatives (e.g. replanting, ratoon management, fertilization programs) and ensure alignment with factory production targets.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Sustainable Business Agriculture, Crop Science, or a related field (master’s degree would be an asset).
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in sugar cane production or agricultural research extension.
- Strong knowledge of sugarcane agronomy and farm management systems
- Supervisory or management experience is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Recruit, design and implement cane productivity improvement programs.
- Work closely with Cane Farmer Relations team, Agronomists and Cane Farmer Credit to identify and implement yield improvement farm services for independent cane farmers.
- Supervise and coordinate field technicians to recruit cane farms for the yield improvement program.
- Develop annual work plan aligned with field and factory cane supply forecasts.
- Build strong working relationships with cane farmers and farmer associations.
- Organize training workshops, field demonstrations, and extension services.
- Monitor and analyze yield data, acreage expansion, and replanting rates.
- Ensure adherence with agricultural, environmental, health& safety, and industry standards.
- Assist in preparation and management of departmental budgets.
- Oversee allocation of equipment, vehicles and agricultural inputs.
- Monitor cost-effectiveness of developmental programs.
