OVERVIEW
The Serviceman will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of mechanical equipment, tools, and vehicles. This role involves inspecting machinery, diagnosing issues, replacing or repairing faulty parts, and ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently. The Serviceman will also maintain accurate service records and communicate repair needs with other employees and management team.
Requirements and Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs on mechanical shop equipment and vehicles.
- Identify mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and troubleshooting techniques.
- Replace or repair defective components, parts, and systems as needed.
- Maintain detailed service logs and documentation for all work performed.
- Adhere to safety standards and department protocols during all repair and maintenance activities.
- Must have ability to read and write (preferably English) to keep up with Service records.
- Performing duties safely – All tasks must be completed with adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborating effectively – Working harmoniously with colleagues is essential for this role.
- Valid driver’s license – A valid CDL driver’s license is mandatory for this position. CDL Class A or B with X endorsement, with 1 years’ experience. Must have Safe Driver’s License Record (No DUI’s within 5 years, less than 6 points within the year, no more than 1 chargeable accidents within three years.)
- Ability to follow instructions – The candidate must be able to work both independently and with minimal supervision.
- Experience requirements – A minimum of one year of prior experience working on a Heavy Equipment- Mechanical, machinery, or vehicles.
- Ability to use various diagnostic and repair tools efficiently and safely.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining service records.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Effective communication and teamwork.
This position may also require prolonged periods of standing, continue use of both hands, arms, and legs, including crossing sloped terrain and working near canal banks. Additionally, extended periods of sitting are required when operating equipment. Candidates must be available to work weekends and some holidays.
