OVERVIEW

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Cyber Security Intern to join our dynamic team and gain hands-on experience in the field of cybersecurity. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced cyber security professionals, contribute to real-world projects, and enhance your skills in various aspects of information security from governance, risk and compliance to network and endpoint security. In addition, the internship program will give you access to a mentor in another area of IT. You will be given the opportunity to present to IT Leadership throughout the program. You will get personal 1X1 time with IT Executives.

 

 

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The majority of work will be focused on data analysis and cleanup of access roles for all users.
  • Other areas of learning and assisting will be:
    • Monitoring security systems, identifying and investigating potential security threats, and recommending appropriate actions. 
    • Collaborating with the cyber security team to analyze and respond to security incidents and breaches promptly and effectively. 
    • Helping with security audits on systems, applications, and network infrastructure. 
    • Participating in the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and security software. 
    • Contributing to the development and maintenance of security documentation, including policies, procedures, and incident response plans. 
    • Staying up-to-date with the latest cyber security trends, threats, and technologies to provide proactive recommendations for improving our security posture. 
    • Support in researching and evaluating emerging security solutions that align with the organization's needs and goals. 

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cyber Security, or a related field and currently in Junior or Senior year of study.

 

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and information security principles. 
  • Strong data organizational skills with Microsoft Excel. 
  • Familiarity with common security concepts and technologies, such as firewalls, antivirus, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability assessment. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. 
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Eagerness to learn and stay updated on the evolving landscape of cyber threats and security best practices.
  • Must be able to commute to office location in West Palm Beach
