The Master Data Analyst reports to the Master Data Lead and will have a global responsibility for the development and implementation of data governance processes, procedures, and controls companywide. Such data may be housed in a variety of databases existing, or not yet implemented, to include SAP, MDG, PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), PIM (Product Information Management), QM (Quality Management) as well as various outside or third party systems that perform the same functions. The Master Data Analyst will work with the Master Data Lead and Master Data Coordinator to lead and support data projects and assist in the development of data governance, data dictionaries, policies, processes and procedures that promote best practice and support the mission of the data and analytics team.



  • Analyze large datasets to identify and create rulesets which are leveraged to standardize master data.
  • Complete data evaluation for rule determination at the client, plant, and sales area-specific levels
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of processes and procedures to ensure access to and integrity of data sets.
  • Develop and implement strategies to translate business requirements and models into feasible and acceptable data designs to ensure that business needs are met.
  • Provides data consulting in support of various business and information technology initiatives.
  • Work closely with Support Managers to facilitate MDG system fixes and expedite them to closure.
  • Propose and collaborate on new global data processes while identifying improvement opportunities in existing data processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Sales & Marketing, Procurement, New Product Development and the Master Data Coordinator to continuously improve existing processes.
  • Ensure Data processes are being followed and enforced by the CMDM team.
  • Facilitate changes to data in other areas impacted as a result of standardization, elimination of duplicates, changes to specifications, etc. (Artwork, Pallet dimensions, Nutritional changes etc.)
  • Communicate any global changes to master data files with the user community.
  • Assist other teams in the review, collection, and correction of data artifacts.
  • Facilitate end-to-end MDG testing for any system upgrades or enhancements.
  • Transactional data support for various data issues within the PTP and OTC processes.
  • Communicate requirements and break fixes concerning MDG or data-related changes and configurations using SAP technical language to the developers.
  • Propose and lead data cleansing initiatives across business lines through key stakeholders.
  • Document relevant global data and trouble-shooting processes.
  • Maintain Classification data including characteristics and all corresponding object dependencies as well as relevant changes to other effected areas such as the KES1 table.
  • Monitor MDP, PDF, and PFC to ensure all characteristic values are synchronized.
  • Develop and conduct training regarding new data processes and policies.
  • Monitor and resolve system replication failures between MDP, PDF and PFC.
  • Cross-functional training with the Master Data Coordinator.
  • Conduct data cleansing in support of data projects to rid the system of old, unused data, or duplicate data.



  • 7+ years’ experience working with SAP ERP, SAP MDG, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Information Steward; or other comparable workflow/reporting/analysis software tools for MDM, DG, and DQ.
  • 7+ years of experience in data analysis or computer programming.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP business processes (OTC, PTP,etc.)
  • Excellent ability to communicate with customers, team members, external data providers, and management.
  • Good skills in data administration, design, and architecture.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong use and knowledge of identifying data errors via tables and transactions.



  • Bachelor's Degree required with 3-5+ years of relevant business experience.
  • Formal certifications from SAP, or functional experience in ERP, MDM, DG, DQ, BI.
