OVERVIEW

As the Senior Director IT Enterprise Strategy & Services your primary role will be:

Lead a multi-functional organization of Directors overseeing Infrastructure Architecture, PMO, Portfolio Planning, Application Support, Infrastructure Operations, and Site Support. Application Support and Infastructure Operations are outsourced services. Provides leadership, direction, and performance management to a team of senior leaders responsible for critical IT service domains.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT strategy, enterprise architecture, and vendor management, with a proven track record of leading complex IT projects and managing outsourced services.

 

 

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement IT strategy aligned with business goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of enterprise and infrastructure architecture to ensure scalability, security, and efficiency.
  • Owns enterprise IT portfolio planning, prioritization, and execution, ensuring alignment between strategy, funding, and delivery outcome.
  • Accountable for both ‘run’ (operations, support, stability) and ‘change’ (projects, transformation) across the IT services portfolio.
  • Defines and enforces service delivery KPIs and SLAs across all infrastructure and application support functions, driving continuous improvement in reliability, user experience, and cost efficiency.
  • Owns managed services strategy and performance, ensuring outsourced partners deliver against contractual, operational, and strategic expectations.
  • Leads enterprise-wide transformation initiatives including cloud adoption, platform standardization, automation, and service modernization.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Monitor and optimize infrastructure and application performance, availability, and capacity.
  • Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Owns operating and capital budgets across infrastructure, support, and portfolio execution, driving cost optimization and value realization.
  • Development and on-going refinement of enterprise-wide IT architecture standards
  • Ensure IT security and compliance requirements are embedded in IT architecture standards
  • Drive common IT approaches, processes and access to information across FCC/ASR
  • Active member of the ITS Architecture Review Board to evaluate and approve technology acquisitions and IT solutions
  • Provides operational governance and ensures execution alignment to Enterprise Architecture standards, partnering with EA leadership (outside direct reporting line) to enforce adherence to strategic architecture direction
  • Motivate, influence and inspire the FCC IT leaders to accept and drive towards the strategic IT architecture
  • Drive continuous improvements in IT efficiency and effectiveness around technology convergence, IT rationalization and standardized platform
  • Collaborate with Business to understand Service Strategy and Business Unit goals and priorities.
  • Understand the business and customer needs to introduce innovative technical solutions that grow the bottom line and/or speed time to market.
  • Advocate for technology and process improvements that will deliver flexible platforms and processes that support agile product development and facilitate the rapid transformation of customer insight into customer value.
  • Network with industry thought leaders and be recognized for your contributions
  • Deliver infrastructure strategy in the areas of hosting, cloud, mobility, IoT, networking, integration, collaboration, end user computing
  • Deliver IT Strategic Plan, ensuring capabilities identified in strategic plan are being developed, roadmaps updated, and linked back to business strategy
  • Lead cloud first strategy and plan for migration of key applications and systems
  • Effectively demonstrate knowledge of how to architect and deploy secure and robust applications on AWS technologies
  • Lead technology products evaluation processes and Architecture Review Board governance for project solutions
  • Deliver EA practices, standards, and governance and ensure that the systems, processes, and technologies used are consistent across business units and are in line with enterprise standards and best practices
  • Build a holistic view of IT strategy, processes, information and technology assets
  • Define the vision, principles and processes that guide the purchase, design and deployment of technology within FCC
  • Develop architectural models that show how FCC’s current and future IT needs will be met in an efficient, secure, sustainable, agile and adaptable manner
  • Development and on-going refinement of enterprise-wide IT architecture standards
  • Ensure IT security and compliance requirements are embedded in IT architecture standards, working with Security and Compliance group.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

 

 

WORK EXPERIENCES

  • 10+ years of experience in IT strategy, enterprise architecture, and project management, 
  • 10+ years equivalent work experience with Networking and Systems Equipment
  • Proven experience in managing outsourced IT services.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with cloud computing, virtualization, and other modern infrastructure technologies.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, ITIL, PMP) are a plus.

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field (preferred)

 

 

ESSENTIAL CAABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)

  • Experience in designing, developing and delivering an IT Strategy
  • Experience in Enterprise and Infastructure Architecture
  • Experience overseeing Infastructure and Application Outsourcing
  • Experienced in on prem and cloud server management as well as data storage within a co-located data center environment
  • Experience in network, voice and data infrastructure architectures, implementations and on-going support
  • Experience with private and public cloud infrastructure architectures, implementations and on-going support
  • Ability to make decisions recognizing established precedents and practices and to use resourcefulness and tact in solving new problems.
  • Demonstrated skills collaborating closely with vendors
  • Plan and prepare cost estimates for infrastructure required by project teams and new applications
  • Must demonstrate excellent technical, service, communication (verbally and in written form) and interpersonal skills with all levels of management in an organized, professional manner and with awareness of its effect on others
  • Identify complex problems, and develop or evaluate options and implement solutions
